National and International Mission Statement
- Educate the mental health community and the public about the psychopathology and evidence based specialized treatments for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders through the life span
- Achieve transformative improvement in accessibility to evidence based specialized treatments for OCD and related disorders Nationally and Internationally
- Develop and oversee the CIOCD expert International OCD Accreditation Task Force (ATF) through the life span responsible for specialized standards and multi-level training
- Oversee the CIOCD Affiliate Outreach Educational Program with collaborations across Canada.
- Support scientific research on OCD designed to improve specialized clinical practice.
CIOCD Activities
- Oversee International development of specialty knowledge and competency standards recommended for specialized treatments for OCD through the lifespan
- Develop and disseminate multi-level (foundational to specialized) training protocols on evidence based specialized treatments for OCD through the life span based on the established CIOCD ATF specialty knowledge and competency standards
- Offer education, training, and consultation to mental health professionals and centers on OCD and related disorders
- Implement comprehensive advanced training based on the ATF standards for mental health professionals and centers Nationally and Internationally to level of certification
- Support presentations, lectures, workshops, and educational groups for OCD sufferers and families
- Advance scientific research on OCD to improve specialized clinical practice
- Collaborate with institutions, treatment centers, universities, and policy makers to achieve CIOCD mandates
