Dr. Debbie Sookman, Ph.D

Dr Debbie Sookman is an internationally known expert in the assessment and treatment of OCD and related disorders through the lifespan. Dr Sookman serves as the ATF Chair and President of the CIOCD (www.ciocd.ca, please see About CIOCD and Accreditation pages). Dr Sookman is Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, in Montreal, Canada; and Director of the Canadian Treatment Center for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. She serves on the Research Ethics Board of the McGill University Health Center.  Dr Sookman is an experienced clinical supervisor and held the position of Director of Training in the Department of Psychology at MUHC by repeated appointment for a period of 14 years.  Her clinical work and research focus on improving rates of recovery in response to specialized treatments.  Dr. Sookman’s many publications include: D.
